Edgmond village Paths Benefits from Community Grant

Author | 15 January 2019

Work has been completed on improvements to a vital path link in Edgmond meaning better access for the village primary school.

Pride In Our Community grant helps improve village paths

The path from Shrewsbury Road car park to the school has been redefined and the surface improved, meaning it can now be used by the school’s walking bus.

It was funded by a Pride In Our Community grant and the work was carried out by AJB Contracting.

Work has also been carried out in Waters Upton which has seen a number of paths across the parish brought back into use and missing signs and waymarkers replaced.

Councillor John Minor, Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet member for Leisure, Green Spaces and Parks, said: “The path in Edgmond is the route of the school walking bus and over a number of months has been the subject of many complaints and concerns.

“This work means that it is safely passable for pupils going to the school as well as everyone else in the village.

“In Waters Upton, we have brought paths back into use and the supply of posts has been much appreciated by the parish council.”
