Newport has a quiet weekend

Author | 05 August 2019

It was a relatively quiet weekend of races for members of Newport & District Running Club.

Firstly, On Sunday 4th August Steve Cannon ran the Cannock Chase 10k through the hills and woods of the Chase. With it not being as hot as it was during last years heatwave Steve said it was pretty brutal with humidity and hills. However he managed to finish the race in 1 hour and 56 seconds.

A bit further afield David Cornes and Lorraine Meredith travelled to York for the weekend and to take part in the York 10k. It seemed the weather held off and stayed favourable for the runners.
Dave finished the race in 1 hour, 2 minutes and 9 seconds while Lorraine completed in 1:15:02.
