On Sunday, October 20th, a poignant ceremony took place in Newport, Shropshire, as His Majesty's Lord Lieutenant of Shropshire, Mrs. Anna Turner JP, unveiled a memorial plaque outside the Newport Royal Naval Association.
The plaque honours the brave servicemen and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting our country and its people. This touching tribute was made possible thanks to a generous donation from the family of the late shipmate, Len Capaldi, and the tireless efforts of the Club Committee.
