A second visit to the House of Lords in two months for yoga and meditation teacher Gail Cooper of Meridian Life!
Following a nationwide search Meridian Life which is based in Newport Shropshire has been named as one of the nation’s 100 most impressive small firms of 2024 by the Small Business Saturday UK campaign.
Gail also took part in their Small Business Britian Small and Mighty Enterprise Programme, and the two celebratory events were held at the House of Lords!
Meridian Life was founded by Gail Cooper five years ago this February. Gail specialises in teaching mindful yoga and meditation to individuals and groups; from helping university students to manage their stress and anxieties, through to corporate companies looking to invest in their employees wellbeing, as well as students in their 90’s who attend chair yoga classes seeking to improve their mobility and balance.
Gail who has also launched her YinFusion brand, has created a unique blend of yin yoga, meditation, crystal healing and distance reiki. Streamed online into the comfort of your own home these sessions are designed to bring a sense of stillness, tranquillity, alignment to the body and mind and aid a better night’s sleep.
On a mission to expand, Gail wants to take her yoga and meditation into prisons. She has recently extended her 500hr yoga and meditation teacher qualifications by training with the Prison Phoenix Trust which specialises in teaching in secure environments and to those who have been through trauma in their life.
‘I am so passionate about inspiring and making a difference to people’s lives; helping people to find deep inner healing and peace, finding lifelong happiness through the regular practice of yoga and meditation’ Gail said.
To add to her achievements, in 2024 Gail was also awarded Most Inspiring Yoga Teacher (West Midlands).
Running in the UK for over a decade, Small Business Saturday is the UK’s most successful small business campaign, which takes place each year on the first weekend in December, celebrating small businesses and encouragingconsumers to 'shop local' and to support businesses in their communities.
Gail said ‘The whole experience of being part of the Small Business Saturday campaign has been incredible; they have really supported each of the small businesses and provided so much training and advice.
Of course, the highlights have been two invitations to The House of Lords and an invite to No 10 which sadly I could not make, but I am secretly hoping another invite to No 10 might come through at some point!’
