Shropshire Chamber of Commerce’s networking group for young businesspeople will be taking an in-depth look at Artificial Intelligence at its next meeting.
Doug Hamilton, marketing manager at Shrewsbury-based digital solutions specialist Shoothill, will be the guest speaker at the meeting on June 5.
He will be explaining how young professionals can harness the fast-developing technology in their workplaces.
The event, from 5.30pm to 7pm, will include networking opportunities and a chance to make valuable new contacts. The venue is still to be confirmed.
Ella Preece, Shropshire Chamber’s marketing co-ordinator who runs the group, said: “We’re happy to see Our Future In Focus beginning to grow.
“It is an opportunity for young people from Shropshire-based businesses to build new connections among like-minded individuals, enhance knowledge in a relaxed and friendly networking environment, and contribute positively to the local business community.”
At the group’s last meeting, members got the chance to go behind the scenes at Telford town centre’s new fire station, including an up-close look at the fire engines and training rooms.
Safety inspection officer Matt Angell spoke about the role a business plays in fire safety, precautions needed to prevent fires, and challenges posed by legislation.
Ella said: “Something that surprised us all was that businesses with fewer than four employees were once exempt from having a risk assessment.”
A minimum of four Our Future In Focus events will be organised this year. For more details about the group, see www.shropshire-chamber.co.uk/membership/our-future-in-focus.
