Newport offers a variety of short and long distance walks for all the family. The choice is yours, short flat canal walks (Suitable for motability vehicles, pushchairs and wheelchairs). Great for walking your dog too. Cycling through the beautiful lanes around Newport and the Shrewsbury and Newport Canal you will always find a beautiful location to stop from local pubs, tearooms, garden centres. Norbury Junction canal side offers a pub on one side and tearooms with a working boatyard on the other, always worth a visit. Just to tempt you, from Newport along recently upgraded railway path you can walk or cycle all the way to Stafford, or stop off at Gnosall. If you visit at the right time, just off the pathway is a beautiful walk that takes you past the most wonderful, colourful gardens. The flowers and scenery are amazing. Another beautiful walk would be along the canal, past the lock house, onto Edgmond village, then across to Longford where you could stop off at the Talbot Chapel.
