Once turned 17 he passed his driving licence, which
allowed him to drive and maintain a vast selection of
military vehicles over his 23 year military career.
In 1991 Leigh decided to re-trade and become a
military Staff Clerk. Later that year, AGC was formed
and Leigh was transferred.
During his military career Leigh worked in various
locations including Germany, Poland, Belgium,
Cyprus and Kenya.
Whilst he has spent most of his military career in
Germany he also served in Northern Ireland, where
he spent 2 years working with Weapons Intelligence
based in Londonderry.
This role required his team to be on call 24/7 and react
to any incident that would arise in the province. The
largest of these incidents being the well publicised
Omagh Bombing in August 1998.
Leigh also deployed for over 4 years of his service on
Operations in the Balkans, Iraq and most recently 3
tours of Afghanistan.
As part of the AGC (SPS) Leigh worked in some varied
roles including Workshop Clerk, Senior Sub Unit
Clerk, Discipline Sergeant, Brigade Chief Clerk and his
final role in 2012 as the Unit Systems Coordinator for
22 Signal Regiment based in Stafford.
On locating back to UK and Telford (in 2012), Leigh
started to use
Autotech Performance
for his BMW
after hearing about Peter via an Internet search.
“I instantly liked the way he spoke to customers
and gave them his honest/professional and expert
advice” says Leigh. Peter was looking at expanding
the team and employing a new member of staff in
administration.
A year and a half later and the rest
as they say is history.
