Newport Bowling Club
The Club was formed in 1904 and as they have just recently found out
started playing fixtures in 1914 albeit they were not in a league.
League Bowling didn’t arrive at Newport until 1972
when a team was entered into the Mid Shropshire
League. They have come a long way since then.

The club can boast having county bowlers from
Shropshire and Staffordshire in their ranks this year,
along with a ladies county bowler and several of the
juniors being called upon to represent Shropshire in
competitions last year.
During the winter months when the greens are
being restored and the weather is inclement they
have indoor bowling.
Saturday nights they have various activities ranging
from a monthly Whist Drive to live entertainment.
The Live Entertainment is a new venture and is open
to non members to attend.
