Newport in Bloom
Autumn has well and truly arrived and the baskets
and planters have now been removed from the
High Street and emptied by Newport in Bloom’s
volunteers.
Many people clearly felt that the hanging baskets
were particularly stunning this season and such
positive feedback makes the hard work well
worthwhile. It will not be an easy act to follow
but Newport in Bloom is committed to an even
better display next year, when they will be inviting
the Heart of England in Bloom judges back to the
town. The Committee decided not to enter the
annual competition this year, due to the building
sites located at every entrance to the town, but
plans for 2016 are already under discussion.
The next Newport in Bloom fund raising event will
be a Quiz Night at the Rugby Club on Friday 27th
November at 7.30pm, and they hope that this will
also be a great success. Look out for the posters,
check our “Dates for your Diary...” and let’s continue
to support their efforts.
